The Cultural Relations Platform is collaborating once again with the EU Delegation in India to promote EU-India cultural exchanges!
As part of the EU Film Festival in India, the CRP is co-organising the special event “From the Book to the Screen”, an online conference featuring recognized authors and film directors on 24 November 2020.
The digital event will aim to explore several in-depth topics regarding the artistic process of adapting novels and literary publications into scripts and films, and the process of scriptwriting in comparison to literature, amongst other related thematic discussion points.
The European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL) laureates Selja Ahava (Finland) and Marta Dzido (Poland) will take part in the conversation and exchange with the Swiss film director Delphine Lehericey, and the Indian writer Amish Tripathi. The discussion will be moderated by the producer and actor Carlo D’Ursi.

Selja Ahava is a Finish fiction author and scriptwriter. She has written film scripts, a TV series and a radio play. Winner of the EUPL in 2016 with her book Things that Fall from the Sky, its translation rights have been sold to 25 territories.
Marta Dzido is a Polish writer, documentary filmmaker and film editor. Author of various books, she also co-directed Downtown, a documentary that won the Hollywood Eagle Doc Award in 2011. She wrote, directed and edited Solidarity According to Women, that won the special award of the Polish Film Institute. She won EUPL in 2019.
Amish Tripathi is the Director of the Nehru Centre in London, a columnist, and an author. The Shiva Trilogy was the fastest-selling book series in Indian publishing history. In 2017, Tripathi launched his first non-fiction book, Immortal India. Amish’s 8 books have sold over 5.5 million copies in the Indian subcontinent since 2010.
Delphine Lehericey is a Swiss director, director and actress based in Belgium. Her second feature film, Beyond the Horizon (2019) won the Swiss Film Prize 2020 in two categories (Best Fiction Film, Best Screenplay).
